Quality Standards

ABAN is the network of advice providers within Argyll and Bute. Our primary aims are:
  • to improve the quality of advice that is available in our area;
  • to make high quality advice accessible to everyone in our area; and
  • to promote co-operation between agencies.
Membership of the Network and inclusion in the on-line ABAN directory of services is open to all advice providers who can demonstrate that they are able to meet the required standards.

The ABAN service standards are shared by all our members. We will:
  • be helpful and approachable;
  • treat all enquiries sensitively;
  • ensure confidentiality and only refer clients to other agencies with their permission;
  • ensure that our services are easily accessible to everyone;
  • ensure that advice and information is useful, relevant and up to date;
  • try our best to respond to enquiries within one working day (please note that our member agencies have varying working hours);
  • consult our service users about what they want and need from the service;
  • listen to what our service users tell us;
  • make sure that all information and advice that we provide is clear and useful; and
  • be open and accountable
