Adding Users

Adding users

You can only add users if you have an administrator’s account.

E2Adviser writes all calculations to a hierarchical database. This means that you can divide the database as many times as you want while retaining the ability to look across all calculations (if you choose).

If you have an account with administrator privileges you can add users to the database, for instance people who work for you as advisers. This will mean that they will have their own database of results that they see on their ‘My Account’ page.
  1. Click on the ‘My Account’ link in the header
  2. Click on the ‘Users’ link that now appears in the header
  3. A list of existing users appears (unless we have set up accounts for you there will normally only be one account). To set up a new account click on ‘New Adviser’ at the bottom of the page
  4. Enter a name and password for the new adviser and select whether they have ‘administrator’ status (so they can set up new accounts for other people) or ‘adviser’ status. You can also choose whether the new user will calculate tax credits or whether this element of the calculator is disabled.
  5. Click on ‘Save details’ at the bottom of the page
  6. You return automatically to the ‘Users’ page where there is a new row for the new adviser just added. The first column shows the name they must use to login to their account. Please make a note of the login ID and the password you have entered and inform the new adviser of these. Note that they cannot change their login ID, only the username that appears for them in the database.
  7. To be able to view the calculations performed by the adviser you have just set up (including the calculations of advisers they set up if they are an administrator) click on the tickbox under ‘Manage’. If you do not tick this box then you will not be able to view calculations performed by the adviser you have set up.
To log on as a different user click on the link ‘Logout’ in the header. This will take you back to the login page.
